Why every VA should get a business card

A question that often pops up in the coaching sessions within Virtual Assistant Visibility Club is “Do I need a business card.”
The short answer is “yes, (ideally, but not right away)”, but let’s explore why!
I have said it before but as Virtual Assistants, we mainly work virtually (the hint is in the name 😅). This doesn’t mean we won’t be lucky enough to gain local clients or build in-person connections. We may attend a networking event or conference where we get chatting to someone who either needs a VA themselves or knows someone who does. Alternatively, we may be out walking the dog, or collecting the children from school, and bump into someone and over time establish that they could REALLY benefit from someone like us (in fact, someone JUST like us!).
By having a business card readily available in our wallet or coat pocket, we can give potential clients a tangible token that they then take away. Yes, some business cards you hand out may grow dust in the back of someone's office drawer, but there will be ones that people take away and reach out to you at a future date.
So, what should your business card include?
Your logo, business name and contact details are a minimum requirement.
You may like to have your logo and business name on one side, and then your name, contact information, tagline or QR code linking to your website on the other side.
The key is not to cram your business card with too much information but to make sure it contains enough so that the receiver can understand who you are and what your business does.
